Purdue environmental clubs to convene for Earth Day

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University's environmental clubs and West Lafayette's Go Greener Commission will celebrate Earth Day on April 22 on the Purdue Memorial Union's front lawn.

Purdue Student Union Board, which is hosting the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will arrange free environmentally friendly activities. Students may pot their own plants or paint their own canvas bags while learning how to better protect the environment.

In the event of rain, the celebration will be moved to April 23.

Some of the participating student groups include Boiler Green Initiative and Pugwash.

The Go Greener Commission is a group of local citizens interested in the environmental health of the community.
