March 16, 2009 Consumer and Family Sciences Formal raises $920 for Food FindersWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University's College of Consumer and Family Sciences' inaugural formal raised $920, which has been given to Food Finders Food Bank.The Consumer and Family Sciences Student Council, which sponsored the event March 7, received a $500 grant from the Office of the Dean of Students for the dance. That allowed the council to give all the proceeds from ticket sales to Food Finders. Students who attended the dance in Stewart Center also donated canned goods to the food bank. Katy Bunder, Food Finders executive director, accepted a certificate of donation at the dance and thanked students. She said cash donations are important to the organization.
