Business conditions in China, India topic of Purdue symposium

The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Participants will gain insight into how China and India relate to each other and with the rest of the world in the global economy. Introductions to Chinese and Indian business etiquette, society and economic development also will be presented.

Professionals with experience in China and India will speak or be panelists at the forum. The lunch keynote speaker will be Ping Huang, Consul General of the Consulate of the People's Republic of China in Chicago. Stephen Akard, director of international development for the Indiana Economic Development Corp., will deliver opening remarks.

The panel includes Parasuram Balasubramanian, founder and CEO of Theme Work Analytics in India and the United States; Anath Iyer, professor in the Krannert School of Management; Quinn Frazier, international business development at UPS; and Prasad Joshi, of Infosys's Software Engineering and Technology Labs.

The Confucius Institute, Discovery Park, Global Engineering Programs and the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at Purdue are sponsoring the event.
