Latino Cultural Center seeks donations for needy families

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue Latino Cultural Center, through its 15 affiliated organizations and supporting faculty and staff, is taking donations for 14 needy families for the holiday season.

The center will collect food, toys, clothes, and gift cards. Items will be accepted through Dec. 5. Families who will receive the gifts come from profiles provided by the YWCA of Greater Lafayette, Latino Coalition, United Businesses Serving the Community and Lafayette's First Steps program.

Marisol Uribe, business operations specialist at the cultural center, said this is the most families the event has served in five years. Last year, the center assisted five families.

Those wishing to make donations can deliver items to the Latino Cultural Center or bring them to the center's Posada Potluck on Friday (Dec. 5). For more information, contact Uribe at (765) 474-2530.
