November 27, 2008 Statement on attacks in IndiaDear Purdue FamilyThe Purdue University community is deeply saddened by the recent terrorist attacks in India. We have a special kinship with this great nation and its people. While we have no students currently studying in Mumbai, more than 1,250 of our students are from India as well as many of our faculty and alumni. They represent the largest international group on our campus. Our hearts and prayers are with all of them. I join President France Córdova and the entire university in condemning these and all acts of terrorism. As a global community we all must stand together to protect civil society. We urge Indian members of the Purdue family needing assistance at this time to contact our Office of International Students and Scholars at 427-4401. Respectfully, William "Randy" Woodson Provost, Purdue University
