October 14, 2008 Experts to discuss current, future wind energyWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Two experts from Sandia National Laboratories will discuss wind energy now and in the future during a Purdue University lecture.Jose Zayas, manager of the Sandia Laboratories Wind Energy Technology Department, and Mark Rumsey, also of the department, will give an overview of wind energy and related issues at 6 p.m. Oct. 22 in Armstrong Hall of Engineering, Room 1010. The lecture, sponsored by Purdue's Energy Center at Discovery Park, is free and open to the public. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Armstrong Hall atrium. Sandia is a U.S. Department of Energy laboratory operated by Lockheed Martin. It has research and development responsibilities in national security, energy and environmental technologies, and economic competitiveness. Its main facilities are in Albuquerque, N.M., and Livermore, Calif.
