Krannert students to 'Trick-or-Can' for charity

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Members of a Purdue University student organization will don costumes and take to the streets on Halloween night to collect food for a local charity.

The Krannert School of Management's Management Ambassadors club will host its seventh annual "Trick-or-Can" event Oct. 31 in the University Farms neighborhood in West Lafayette. Ambassadors will drop off bags at homes in University Farms during the week of Oct. 13 that homeowners can use to package their donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items. The students will canvas the neighborhood in teams on Halloween to pick up the donated items, which will be distributed to Lafayette Urban Ministry.

Last year the event resulted in the donation of more than 1,000 food items to the ministry's food pantry, which provides emergency food to hungry children and adults throughout west central Indiana.
