Call-out to be held for 'Tippecanus Rex' project

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - An information session and rally for participation in the upcoming 'Tippecanus Rex' project will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Tippecanoe Arts Federation, 638 North St., Lafayette.

Purdue Galleries is partnering with the Tippecanoe Arts Federation for the community-wide celebration of the "(un)natural" history of Tippecanoe County region, said Craig Martin, director of Purdue Galleries. The call-out meeting is open to any interested artists, writers and performers, as well as arts and culture organizations in the Region 4 Arts Partnership.

During the meeting, organizers will talk about the project, which will highlight visual, performing, musical and literary art that addresses invented natural history in the region, and brainstorm ideas for participation and collaboration. Residents of all 14 counties in the Region 4 Arts Partnership served by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation will be invited to submit entries.

"Tippecanus Rex" will be presented April 1 through May 10 at the Tippecanoe Arts Federation. In conjunction with the project, Purdue Galleries also will have "Urban Legends and Rural Myths," a national exhibition on display.
