September 25, 2008 Founder of Ambassadors for Children to speak at PurdueWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Sally Brown, the founder and president of an international children's charity, will speak at a meeting of the Purdue chapter of Ambassadors for Children from 7-8 p.m. Oct. 6 in Lilly Hall of Life Sciences, Room G126.Brown, a Purdue alumna, will talk about her work with the Ambassadors for Children organization, which helps impoverished children and families around the world. During the talk, she will offer ways students and community members can volunteer. The presentation is free and open to the public. Brown is a 2005 hotel and tourism management graduate of Purdue who has been recognized by the United Nations for her work with impoverished children. Ambassadors for Children is a nonprofit agency that facilitates short-term humanitarian service trips and sustainable programs. It partners with schools, orphanages, government officials and medical facilities to help children in need.
