September 22, 2008 Purdue Theatre to present 'You Can't Take It With You'WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -Written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, the play is a heartwarming comedy of epic distortion, said director Richard Sullivan Lee. It features a variety of eccentric characters, including Grandpa Vanderhof who collects snakes, his playwright daughter, her husband who makes fireworks, their two daughters, the FBI, a wrestling Russian, an inebriated actress and a xylophone. The production is part of Purdue Theatre's Marquee Series. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 and 27, and Oct. 1-4. Matinees also will be offered at 3 p.m. on Sept. 27 and Oct. 5. Tickets are $17 for the general public, $10 for students and $13 for seniors age 62 and older.
