College of Consumer and Family Sciences sponsors go green contest

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A Share Your Tips on Going Green contest is among the ways the College of Consumer and Family Sciences is participating in Purdue's Green Week, Sept. 15-19.

Students, faculty and staff are being asked to e-mail what they are doing to "go green" to cfsalums@purdue.edu by Sept. 22. Those who enter will be eligible to win one of 100 reusable grocery tote bags with the College of Consumer and Family Sciences logo.

Also during Green Week:

* The college is encouraging visitors to the Hospitality & Tourism Café in Stone Hall Cafeteria to use fewer napkins, Styrofoam cups, and take-out containers.

* Tips on going green will be at dining tables in the Hospitality & Tourism Management Café.

* College employees will be asked to turn off their office lights and computer monitors when away from their desks.

* Officials are urging that the college's newsletter, Focus, be read online rather than receiving printed copies in the mail. If you'd like to be removed from the mailing list, e-mail cfsalums@purdue.edu
