April 23, 2008 Purdue University Residences seeks summer helpWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University Residences is seeking summer employees to prepare residence halls for the fall semester."Summer utility workers will clean, scrub and paint residences as well as move furniture, maintain grounds and complete various other tasks as needed. "Our summer employees work hard, but they have fun, develop teamwork skills and learn a lot about the university," said Carolyn Newlin, student employment coordinator for Housing and Food Services." Summer utility workers work Monday through Friday, and their salary is $7.30 per hour. Applications are available at https://www.housing.purdue.edu. All employees must be high school or college students at least 17 years old. University Residences houses nearly 12,000 students on campus during the school year, the largest program in the nation where all students voluntarily participate. Throughout the year, Housing and Food Services employs 1,500 students, making it Purdue's largest on-campus student employer.
