April 18, 2008 Purdue students represent campus during congressional visitsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Two Purdue University undergraduate students were selected to represent the campus April 15 during a series of fraternity and sorority congressional visits in Washington, D.C.Brooke McKinney, a junior in the College of Liberal Arts from Indianapolis and member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Tom Seto of Evansville, Ind., who has been admitted to the professional pharmacy doctorate program, were part of the delegation. The group also included Kyle A. Pendleton, assistant dean of students of fraternity and sorority life, Priscilla Gerde, former national president of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Scott Wiley, executive director of Delta Sigma Phi. The delegation spent the day meeting with senators and representatives to discuss two bills that are before the House and Senate that have the potential to affect colleges and universities around the country. The group members voiced their support for the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act of 2007 and the Collegiate Fire Prevention Act.
