April 3, 2008 Purdue student-produced rock show to take place April 5WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University students will showcase their musical talents during a student-produced rock concert at 7 p.m. Saturday (April 5) in Elliott Hall of Music.Phenomena will feature members of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club and the Purduettes performing a variety of hits from the past and present, ranging from classic rock, rhythm and blues, country and hip hop. The concert is free and open to the public. The Phenomena show will open with the final round of Purdue Idol, a competition for incoming Purdue freshmen who are competing for a $1,000 scholarship and a spot in a Purdue Musical Organizations ensemble. This is the second year for the Purdue Idol competition.
