GPA for Purdue students in sororities remains high

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - For the 22nd consecutive semester, the grade point average of students in sororities at Purdue was higher than the all-women's average during the fall semester.

According to Lindsey Morgeson, director of scholastic and chapter development for the Panhellenic Association, the all-sorority GPA average is 3.067 compared to the all-women's GPA average of 3.018.

"The fall 2007 GPA report is a testament that the sorority community is upholding the values of scholarship that our founders set forth many years ago," she said.

Eleven of Purdue's 21 sororities finished above the all-women's GPA average, in addition to 16 finishing above the all-campus GPA average, Morgeson said. With a GPA average of a 3.318, Delta Gamma finished at the top, with Kappa Kappa Gamma and Kappa Alpha Theta rounding out the top three.
