February 29, 2008 Fundraiser to benefit Purdue's Ambassadors for ChildrenWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A group of Purdue University students will travel with Ambassadors for Children during spring break on March 8-15 to El Salvador to deliver supplies and to work with children, orphanages and poor families.Monday (March 3) will be Purdue chapter of Ambassadors For Children night at Puccini's Restaurant, located 300 Brown St. across from the Wabash Landing 9 movie theater. Twenty percent of the total sales from 4-11 p.m. will go to orphanages, a children's hospital, and for food and supplies for poor families. The money also will help pay for hygiene kits and educational supplies. Tax-deductible donations also can be made to help with the El Salvador trip. For example, $7 will purchase a pair of children's shoes, and $10 will buy five pounds of beans, rice, pasta and other packaged food to feed a family for three weeks. Checks should be made payable to Ambassadors for Children. In the memo line on the check, write El Salvador 3/8/08.Mail checks to Ambassadors for Children, c/o Lucia Sheehan (El Salvador Team Leader), 1201 N. Central Ave., Suite #8, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Ambassadors For Children is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1998. The organization's primary purpose is to provide aid to impoverished children around the world.
