January 30, 2008 Business/engineering professionals to discuss working in ChinaWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Understanding the culture and language of China in order to conduct business, research and engineering work will be the subject of a free workshop at Purdue University's Discovery Park on March 1."Discovering China in Business and Engineering: A Professional Development Workshop" will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship, Room 121. The Confucius Institute, Discovery Park, Global Engineering Programs and the Center for International Business Education and Research are sponsoring the event. The workshop will assemble business and engineering professionals with experience working in China to form a panel to share their insights. Experts from the Confucius Institute at Purdue will provide participants with introductory knowledge of Chinese business language and cultural etiquette helpful to conducting engineering work and business in China. A tour of Discovery Park's research facilities also will be offered.
