Bigger Profits through Targeted Sales workshop set Feb. 6

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue University New Ventures Team will lead the Bigger Profits through Targeted Sales workshop Feb. 6 at the Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, Ind.

"The workshop is designed for entrepreneurs and small business owners who wish to grow their business," said Kris Parker, Porter County Extension educator and member of the New Ventures Team.

To be successful in today's marketplace, small business owners must have clearly defined marketing and sales strategies, Parker said.

The workshop, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST, will include small group discussions, a presentation of the marketing action plan and sales strategy and a business networking session.

Each workshop is staffed with Purdue Extension faculty and professional staff who serve as instructors. There will be a New Ventures Team member to assist with each small discussion group.

Some of the topics that will be covered during the workshop will be the defining and positioning of your product or service in the marketplace; analyzing your competition and creating your differential advantage; and capitalizing on opportunities for promotions and public relations.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Portage Chamber of Commerce and the Chesterton-Duneland Chamber of Commerce.

Registration is $140 per person. Early registration is $120 if received before Jan. 23. Refreshments and materials are included.
