Business professionals to speak at Krannert Executive Forum

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Business professionals from some of the largest and most recognizable companies in the United States will focus on topics ranging from career advice to ethics to starting a business in Purdue University's Krannert Executive Forum this semester.

While on campus, executives will dine with students, meet with faculty of the Krannert School of Management, and tour teaching and research facilities.

The forum meets from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. each Friday in Rawls Hall, Room 1086. The lectures are part of an undergraduate class but are free and open to the public as seating permits.

Dates, speakers and topics are:

* Jan. 18 - Mike Lewis, senior vice president, Don Schumacher Racing: "Achieving Success Within the Motorsports Lifestyle"

* Jan. 25 - Stuart Peterson, executive vice president, Pillar Group, "A Small Business Case Study - The True Cost of Maintaining Your Competitive Edge"

* Feb. 1 - Mary Slater, business analyst, Shell Chemicals, "Taking the Unconventional Route to Success"

* Feb. 8 - Kevin O'Callaghan, human resources/training and development, Target Corp., "Achieving Excellence"

* Feb. 15 - Mark Silverman, president, Big Ten Network, "Why a Big Ten Network?"

* Feb. 22 - James Nolan, chief executive officer, Sara Lee Fresh Bakery and executive vice president, Sara Lee Corp. "From Regatta to Cheesecake - Who Knew?"

* Feb. 29 - Elizabeth Klimes, vice president, Six Sigma, Eli Lilly & Co., "The Customer in the Mirror - Contemplating Careers in the Human Health Sector"

* March 7 - Cristian Hernandez, manager, Kimberly-Clark Corp., "Shaping the Future"

* March 21 - Bradena Payne, procurement project manager, IBM, "I've Been Moved (IBM)"

* March 28 - Ronald Kerber, visiting professor of business administration, University of Virginia, "Products Customers Want - The Engine of Your Business"
