January 7, 2008

To the Purdue Family,

As we begin a new year and a new semester, I would like to take this occasion to wish everyone happiness, health and success in 2008. I hope the holiday season for each of you was joyous and that you were able to share this special time with loved ones. My husband Chris and I were blessed with a visit from our children Anne and Stephen. Together, we experienced our first Boilermaker bowl victory and built a Westwood snowman during our first Indiana snowstorm.

The new year brings us many opportunities and challenges. I am very excited about the wonderful prospects for Purdue as we prepare to launch a new strategic plan. I thank everyone for the warm welcome and tremendous support I received during my first six months at Purdue, and I look forward to working with all of you to make our University even greater.

Happy New Year!
