Purdue to offer late-night screening of 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University's Student Union Board will screen "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" on Saturday (Oct. 27) in the Purdue Memorial Union South Ballroom.

Doors will open at 10 p.m. and the movie will begin at midnight. Tickets are $5 for the general public and $2 for students with a valid Purdue ID.

Tickets are on sale from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Purdue Student Union Board office in Purdue Memorial Union, Room 268. Tickets also will be offered beginning at 9:30 p.m. the night of the event.

"This event is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit a few days early and enjoy 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' while a group of more than 15 actors act out the movie on stage," said Thomas Sluis, Purdue Student Union Board films director. "It's always a fun time with hundreds of others participating in one of the greatest cult classics of all time. The audience should get there early since this event regularly sells out."

Before the film begins, a costume contest and contests for first-time Rocky Horror viewers will take place.

A limited number of survival kits, which contain items audience members can use to interact with the show, will be on sale for $5.
