Comedian Bob Saget to perform at Purdue's Elliott Hall of Music

Purdue's Student Concert Committee is sponsoring the show.
Saget is known for his television roles and by simultaneously starring in two Top 10 primetime series: the sitcom "Full House," which ran for eight years, and "America's Funniest Home Videos," for which he served as host.
His more recent comedy appearances, which his Web site describes as "rated R-ish," are known for being more adult in nature than his early television career. The Purdue appearance will contain adult language and content and is for mature audiences.
Saget can currently be seen on NBC in a new quiz show, "1 vs. 100," from the producers of "Deal or No Deal." On the show, Saget works without a script, ad-libbing with people trying to answer trivia questions to win $1 million. The premiere episodes have consistently delivered high Friday night ratings and the network's best performance in its time slot in more than two years, said Kerry Schutt Nason, Purdue Convocations' marketing director.
Saget was recently seen in the 2005 documentary feature film "The Aristocrats," where his appearance received rave reviews from The New York Times, The New York Observer and Entertainment Weekly, which said, "... This is the host of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' as you've never seen him before." The film is now in wide release on DVD.
During the past year, Saget has written, directed and co-produced a new film titled "Farce of the Penguins" for THINKFilm, which also distributed the film "The Aristocrats." "Farce of the Penguins" is an R-rated parody of the Academy Award-winning "March of the Penguins" and is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson. It also stars the voice-over talents of Lewis Black, Mo'Nique, Tracy Morgan and many other guest cameo comedy star appearances. It is scheduled for release in January.
Saget's stand-up show has headlined the House of Blues and Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, theaters, colleges and concert venues. He also is featured on "Blowin' Up," a new MTV series starring Jamie Kennedy and Stu Stone, where his music video "Rollin' With Saget" aired and has since become a hit on YouTube and MySpace.
Los Angeles-based comedian Ryan Stout will be the opening act for Saget's performance. Stout is the winner of the 2005 Boston International Comedy Festival's $10,000 Stand-up Comedy Contest. In addition, he was recently a featured performer at HBO's The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas and at HBO's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo.
Tickets are $29 for the general public and $22 for Purdue and Ivy Tech Lafayette students and children under age 19; prices include a facilities fee.
