Abstract deadline Dec. 17 for air conditioning, refrigeration, buildings conferences

Dec. 17 is the deadline to submit abstracts for international air conditioning, refrigeration and "high performance buildings" conferences July 10-15 at Purdue.

The 20th International Compressor Engineering Conference, the 13th International Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Conference, and the 1st International High Performance Buildings Conference are expected to draw hundreds of researchers from around the world. Short courses will be taught on compressors, supermarket refrigeration and high-performance building technologies emphasizing "building envelopes, integrated-solar, ventilation and indoor- environment" issues.

Information about the conferences is available at https://engineering.purdue.edu/Herrick/Events/index.html. Abstracts may be submitted at www.conftool.com/2010Purdue.

Additional information is available by contacting Virginia Freeman at 49-46078 or  herlconf@purdue.edu.

Engineers will present findings on technologies such as solar-assisted designs, more efficient heat pumps for space heating in buildings and domestic water heating, more efficient compressors and "green" refrigerants.

Purdue faculty and students may attend the conferences at no charge.
