This week's 'Thumbs Up' recipients

"Thumbs Up" gives faculty and staff the chance to recognize others on campus for a job well done.

This week's "Thumbs Up" go to:

Kathy Summerfield: I would like to thank Kathy for all her help while I was out of the office for 3.5 days. She made sure the hall I work in got what they needed even when I wasn't there. Kathy jumps in and helps whenever and wherever she is needed and always with a smile. She is a wonderful friend and co-worker.  It is a pleasure to work with her. A big "Thumbs Up" to you, Kathy. -- Brenda Kemp

Tom Atkinson, Pat Springer, Marcia Fritzlen, Elisheba VanWinkle, Richard Coffman and Graduate School staff: A huge "Thumbs Up" to Tom Atkinson, Pat Springer, Marcia Fritzlen, Elisheba, Richard and the rest of the staff at the Graduate School. They are great people to work with and have helped me tremendously on several occasions to solve some very challenging issues that I present them with. Thankful to have your expertise! -- Vicki Biggs

Matthew Barbee: We would like to nominate Matthew Barbee for the "Thumbs' Up" award. Matthew is responsible for mail delivery and receiving in Stewart Center. He is always very helpful and conscientious in handling all of our Continuing Education and Conferences mail and conference materials. He is always willing to assist in returning conference items, when necessary. Our department is only one of many in Stewart Center to which Matthew delivers mail and materials each day of the week. He greets us with a smile and "hello" whenever we see him. Thanks, Matthew! -- Continuing Education and Conferences

Carol Shelby, John Cox, the Purdue Police Department, and Purdue Grounds staff: The staff of Purdue Convocations would like to thank Carol, John, and all the Purdue Police officers who participated in advance planning for Lady Gaga ticket sales, and then helped keep order and students safe during the sale. While Friday [Nov. 13] was a busy day, it would not have gone as smoothly without all of your support and help. We'd also like to thank the Grounds crew, who we know did a lot of extra work to clean up areas where students waited in line. We appreciate all your hard work! -- Purdue Convocations

Elliott and Loeb Box Office staff: The staff of Purdue Convocations would like to thank the entire Purdue Box Office staff for all their help in advance planning for Lady Gaga ticket sales, as well as for managing the pressure of fast and furious ticket sales on Friday [Nov. 13]! Without your hard work, such shows couldn't happen, and we appreciate all your help. -- Purdue Convocations

Purdue Student Concert Committee: The staff of Purdue Convocations would like to thank you for your efforts in helping manage the ticket lines for the Lady Gaga ticket sales day and for helping pick up trash left by students around Elliott Hall of Music. We appreciate your help. -- Purdue Convocations
