November 9, 2009 This week's 'Thumbs Up' recipients"Thumbs Up" gives faculty and staff the chance to recognize others on campus for a job well done. This week's "Thumbs Up" go to: Jane Robertson: I would like to submit Jane Robertson, administrative assistant for the 4-H Extension Program leader, for a "Thumbs Up" award. This wonderful individual consistently goes way above the call of duty to make your life easier. Whenever I call her to ask for help (and I do this a lot!) she always has the answer and will help in any way possible. When I talk with peers, they tell the same story. One even commented that they could "hear" the smile in her voice! I have called her in a panic, and she has this gift of straightening everything out. Jane, you are one in a million, and I want you to know how much you are appreciated! -- Melanie Brown Kevin Loeffler: In general, for his technical support to the DRC and ODOS and his willingness to answer questions that were asked and answered previously. Specifically, for his insight, technical skill, and innovative solution to an internal process that makes compensation for service provision more salient and efficacious. Thanks, Kevin! --Stephanie Adams and Sam Walter Janae Bos: I would like to nominate Janae Bos for a "Thumbs Up" award. She gave my Boy Scout troop a great tour of the National Soil Erosion Research Lab, coming in after hours on her own time and demonstrating the lab equipment to the boys. They really had a great time. -- Larry Theller Chemistry Business Office: I would like to nominate the ladies in the Chemistry Business Office for a "Thumbs Up." They have always been very helpful whenever I have had a question. They are always willing to go that extra step. Thank you, Blair Bailey, Sarah Johnson, Donna Dutton, Jennifer Goetz, Patricia Herrera, Janelle Proctor, and Kathy Pugh! -- Connie Reynolds Chief Kevin Ply and Purdue Fire Department: Chief Kevin Ply and all the wonderful people who work for the Purdue Fire Department, thanks for all you do and also for taking us through the CHM 605 Fire Extinguisher Training Exercise year after year. -- Linda Swihart PUSH staff: I would like to submit a "Thumbs Up" to the employees at PUSH. We have been hit with record numbers of flu, and the providers, nursing staff, laboratory personnel, radiology, check-in staff and all support staff have stepped up. Staff is limited and the amount of sick students has been overwhelming along with the arrival of H1N1 vaccinations. Dedication has made this possible "Thumbs Up" to all! -- Chris Rearick
