Thursday, Oct. 29

-- Purdue campus programming on BTN. Big Ten Network. 10 a.m.: "Boiler Bytes 4" (debut). 4:30 p.m.: "Boiler Bytes 4." Summary of Big Ten athletics and Purdue-produced campus programming on BTN is at www.bigtennetwork.com/schedule/Big-Ten-Network-Purdue-programming.asp.

-- Heisman Trophy on display with Leroy Keyes. Fundraiser for Purdue Center for Cancer Research. 2-4 p.m. Kendrick Nissan auto dealership, Creasy Lane at State Road 26 East, Lafayette. Purdue football All-American Leroy Keyes finished second in the 1968 Heisman balloting. This event is a chance to meet him and have one's picture taken with the trophy for a contribution to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research. More about the center at www.cancerresearch.purdue.edu.

-- OIE workshop for National Disability Employment Awareness Month: "Interacting with People with Disabilities." -- Videotaping of Purdue's "Fast Track TV News." Audience will be included. 3:30 p.m. Room B-22, STEW. Program airs on Comcast Channel 5 and Boiler TV Channel 13. An Experience Liberal Arts month event.

-- President's Forum. Open to all faculty and staff. 3:30-4:30 p.m. South Ballroom, PMU. Remarks by President France A. Córdova. Spotlights from deans Dennis Savaiano (Consumer and Family Sciences) and Richard Cosier (Management).

-- Philosophy Colloquium. Tom Beauchamp, Georgetown Univ. "From Morality to Common Morality." 4:30 p.m. Room 1268, Beering Hall. An Experience Liberal Arts month event.

-- Exhibition talk and opening reception. For "Hard Rain: The Late Works of Mary Hambleton" (see listing below under "Ongoing Events" and "All Week" ). Talk by Ken Buhler, the artist's husband. Purdue University Galleries. 6 p.m. Room 310, STEW. Followed by reception in Stewart Center Gallery.

--Exhibition: "Hard Rain: The Late Works of Mary Hambleton." Purdue University Galleries. Paintings chronicling artist's journey of living with cancer; exhibition in collaboration with Purdue Oncological Sciences Center's annual "Cancer, Culture and Community" events. Stewart Center Gallery. Hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, plus until 8 p.m. Thursday; 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Through Dec. 6. -- Exhibition: "Purdue's Place in Space: From the Midwest to the Moon."  Libraries Archives and Special Collections. Includes items from Neil Armstrong, Eugene Cernan and other Purdue astronaut alumni in celebration of 40 years since the first moon landing. 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. -- Art education exhibition: "Envision/Revisit." Works by students and alumni in art education major. Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries, Pao Hall. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Through Friday (Oct. 30).  In conjunction with exhibition: Lecture by alumni artist Michal Lile on "Artmaking and Teaching: A Symbiosis," 7:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 29 in Room 1197, Pao Hall.

-- John Purdue Room Lunch Special. This week, the featured specials in the John Purdue Room are tortilla soup (soup) and chicken burritos (entrée). 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Stone Hall. TICKETS

Events are free unless noted (except that conference registrations may be omitted here). Ticket prices are for single events, not any series or discount offers. An exception to the following will be noted in the listing.

For varsity athletics tickets, call the Athletic Ticket Office, (765) 494-3194 or (800) 49-SPORT [497-7678]; or visit the office in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility. The office is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and before ticketed events at IAF, Mackey Arena and Ross-Ade Stadium. For ticketed sports events at other Purdue venues, tickets will be on sale before the event at the venue. More at www.purduesports.com.

For Purdue Convocations and Purdue Theatre events and some others as announced, go to ticket offices in Elliott Hall (lower level, northeast end by Hovde Hall) or Stewart Center (west lobby), or call (765) 494-3933 or (800) 914-SHOW [914-7469]. The Elliott Hall box office is open 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and two hours before ticketed events there. The Stewart Center box office is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and two hours before ticketed events there.

Purdue Theatre tickets are sold also at the Pao Hall box office. It is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and two hours before ticketed events there.
