Update: Traffic, parking disruptions

Here are notes on some current and upcoming disruptions on the West Lafayette campus.

Weather conditions play a significant role in progress on some projects.

-- On First Street from MacArthur Drive to Martin Jischke Drive, through traffic will not be possible until early summer 2010 for construction of Hanley Hall. The intersection of First Street and Martin Jischke Drive is being changed to a four-way stop. First Street will be blocked just east of the service drive between Earhart and Meredith halls.… … Bill and Sally Hanley Hall, to house the Human Development Institute, will be built west of Fowler House and east of First Street Towers, and the gravel lot on that site has been eliminated. Visitors to Fowler House can use designated 20-minute parking spaces on First Street, accessible from Martin Jischke Drive. Map: www.purdue.edu/physicalfacilities/travel/pdf/Hanley_Hall.pdf. For contact information and more details, go to  www.purdue.edu/architect/about/construction/8213.htm. For questions or concerns, contact Joe Zachary, construction inspector, at 49-40950.

-- Along the east side of Northwestern Avenue, from Northridge Drive to Lindberg Road, Vectren will replace a gas main at some time during October. Lane closures are expected during this work. Northridge is roughly across Northwestern Avenue from the north end of Mollenkopf Athletic Center.
