This week's 'Thumbs Up' recipients

"Thumbs Up" gives faculty and staff the chance to recognize others on campus for a job well done.

This week's "Thumbs Up" go to:

Becky Peer: Greatly appreciate your prompt help in all of the document preparation tasks over the course of the last few years. A big thumbs up for your positive and friendly demeanor all along. -- Joseph Irudayaraj

Tarri Brickler: Tarri Brickler is one of two academic advisors for the School of Mechanical Engineering. This year, enrollment went up by 200 students, yet she was able to get everyone registered and in their classes as usual. Tarri does not watch the clock -- she works tirelessly to make sure that students are comfortable with their schedule and that they are on track for graduation. She takes the extra step to get to know them personally and is often a strong shoulder for the student to lean on during difficulty times in their lives. Tarri has given a lot to Purdue in her 30-plus career and is one of a kind. She definitely deserves a big “Thumbs Up.” -- Cynthia Dalton

Theresa Morgan: "Thumbs Up" to Theresa Morgan, who could be the poster child for exceptional customer service. The Office of Admissions depends on Theresa’s helpful, pleasant, and professional approach to her job in Printing Services’ mail services department, and there are too many specific examples of Theresa exceeding expectations for me to point out just one. When we have questions or concerns, she responds promptly and thoroughly. She proactively alerts us to new postal regulations that may affect our costs. She helps manage inventory for our many mailings and provides advance notice if inventory is low. Most importantly, I know Theresa provides this same level of service for everyone who uses Printing Services’ mailing services. Thank you, Theresa! --Cathy Heinz

Grounds crew: I suggest a big "Thumbs Up" to the Grounds crew for all of their hard work on the replanting of Stadium Mall near the Civil Engineering Building. They have put in many hard hours of removing the old plants, flowers and trees and replanting the new. -- James Vetzel

Kim Muinzer: A big thanks for all you do as the engineering aide for Physical Facilities in-house design group. The behind-the-scenes computer drafting to help create all of the in-house construction drawings for projects on campus is invaluable to designers and staff.  As a project manager, I am very appreciative of what you do to help get projects done. -- Julie Hickman

Sandy Schaffer: I would like to nominate Sandy Schaffer in the Office of the Registrar for a big "Thumbs Up." She is always willing to go above and beyond what is needed to ensure the job and the students are taken care of. I could not do my job without her. -- Lesa Beals

Purdue Fire Department, Fire Equipment Services and residence hall staff: I would like to thank all departments for their hard work and professionalism in completing the state-required first semester fire drills for all of the residence halls in a timely and efficient manner. Job well done! --- Lt. John Guerra
