Internationalization Task Force creates global linkage database

The Internationalization Task Force has launched a global linkage database as part of its efforts to implement the goals outlined in Purdue's strategic plan.

The global linkage database at www.ippu.purdue.edu/GlobalLinkages provides a portal for all Purdue units to record active programs and connections around the world. It also will assist in the creation of synergies that will inform and propel related research, recruitment, and international education initiatives.

"The searchable database can be used by the Purdue community to determine faculty contacts and collaborative projects across the globe," says Brian Harley, co-chair of the Internationalization Task Force. "Data entry is simple yet important in determining where and how Purdue is working overseas, and in growing Global Purdue."

The task force is seeking faculty input on the institutions, partners, companies and alumni with which Purdue has ongoing educational programs, research projects, engagement activities and affiliations. This process began last May and will continue through early October. Input for the database is requested by the end of September.

The Internationalization Task Force assists colleges, schools, departments and research units in efforts to refine their strategic plans for further internationalization.

Questions about the database or the task force should be directed to Harley at bharley@purdue.edu or Andy Gillespie, task force co-chair, at andyg@purdue.edu.
