Friday, Sept. 18

-- "Bringing the World to Your Classroom through Digital Technology." Workshop with focuses on digital video and Adobe Connect; open to all Purdue faculty and PhD students. -- "Metropolis" directed by Fritz Lang. Convocations, Silent Film/Theater Organ. New restoration of highly influential 1927 classic. Starring Clark Wilson at the Elliott Hall of Music theatre organ presenting his new score for the film; co-presented by the Long Center Theatre Organ Society. 8 p.m. Elliott Hall of Music. With Experience+, introduction to the film by Lance Duerfahrd, assistant professor in the Department of English, at 8 p.m. Tickets: $15-$10.

 

Saturday, Sept. 19

-- Family Day and Band Day on campus and at football game.

-- Family Day events by PSUB. Purdue Student Union Board. (1) Pancake Breakfast with President Córdova. 8 a.m. Armory. (2) BBQ and Outdoor Music Series. 3 p.m./after football game. Front lawn, PMU. -- Game Day Concerts. Purdue Bands. 9 a.m.: Jazz Tailgate (three hours before Purdue vs. Northern Illinois kickoff at noon). 10 a.m.: Marching Band “Thrill on the Hill” (two hours before kickoff). Both at Slayter Center. Band Day performance with high school bands at halftime. Post-game: Marching Band marches from stadium to Purdue Mall for concert.

-- Football vs. Northern Illinois. Noon. Ross-Ade Stadium. Tickets: public, $40; high school age and younger, $23; south end zone, $22; regular employees may use CSSAC coupon from Aug. 27 Inside Purdue to buy public tickets ($40) for $25.

Events are free unless noted (except that conference registrations may be omitted here). Ticket prices are for single events, not any series or discount offers. An exception to the following will be noted in the listing.

For varsity athletics tickets, call the Athletic Ticket Office, (765) 494-3194 or (800) 49-SPORT [497-7678]; or visit the office in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility. The office is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and before ticketed events at IAF, Mackey Arena and Ross-Ade Stadium.
