September 10, 2009 Purdue Women's Club to hold fall luncheon and fairThe Purdue Women's Club will hold its Fall Luncheon and Interest Fair on Oct. 1. Women interested in new social and educational opportunities are invited to attend the event. The fair, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Purdue Memorial Union ballrooms, will feature information on the club’s educational excursions, bus trips, lecture series and luncheons. Information on dozens of interest groups, such as antiquing, gardening, hiking, cards, gourmet cooking and scrapbooking, also will be available. The luncheon will follow at noon and will feature Vera Bradley co-founder Patricia Miller. The women's club will raffle off Vera Bradley bags to support Span Plan scholarships for nontraditional, female Purdue students. Miller will share her experiences on the founding and running of a top fashion, women-owned company based in Fort Wayne. Registration forms are available on the Web site and are due by Sept. 22. Reservations for the luncheon cost $16 and are due at the same time as the registration form.
