Researchers in various studies looking for participants

Here is a list of research studies that currently are looking for study participants

Speech study needs children ages 7-11

Anne Smith, Distinguished Professor of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, is directing a study on speech development in children ages 7-11 who have typical speech and children ages 7-11 who stutter (repeat sounds, syllables, and words).

Eligible children must be native speakers of American English, have hearing within the normal range, and have no cognitive or neurological difficulties. A free assessment of the child's speech, language and hearing abilities will be included.

Families will be compensated $40 upon completion of two testing sessions on two consecutive days. The sessions will last 90 minutes and 30 minutes, respectively. Sessions can be scheduled after school, evenings or on weekends as needed.

Participants also will take a digital image of their evening meal and record the foods and beverages consumed at the meal for eight consecutive days. Participants will be paid for being part of the study.
