This week's 'Thumbs Up' recipients

"Thumbs Up" gives faculty and staff the chance to recognize others on campus for a job well done.

This week's "Thumbs Up" go to:

John A. Sautter and Housing and Food Services: I heard numerous raves from a variety of first-time Purdue parents about your move-in machine. So much of what you and your folks do goes unnoticed, but this is a prime example of how the little things pay off in making a BIG positive impression. As always, John, well done! -- Joseph B. Hornett

Lori Butchko: I am impressed with the experience, knowledge, and dedication Lori has brought to the faculty, staff, and students at the South Bend location. Of all the faculty and staff, her position demands the widest range of knowledge and skill. Lori takes personal pride in delivering the best service and most accurate information on the topics of admission, registration, the bursar's office, and financial aid to the faculty, students, and prospective students and their families. To do this she has had to master the Purdue legacy system, convert to the new Banner and Cognos system, and have full mastery of the Indiana University PeopleSoft system. I give a full "thumbs up" to Lori! -- Michael D. Sanders, College of Technology at South Bend

Kristal Clark and Building Services: Kristal Clark and Building Services, thank you for always helping out with whatever is needed in the classrooms and unlocking doors. We in SMAS could not do it without you. -- Jaylene Nichols

Mary Ryker: I would like to nominate Mary Ryker for recognition. She is the administrative assistant in the Research Development Group and has helped all of us in many ways. She made me feel very welcome when I began work here. Mary is very efficient and organized; she always has a smile and welcomes visitors in a warm, sincere manner. She is a role model for others. -- Karen Griggs

Betty Leak and Kim Crist: A big "Thumbs Up" to Betty Leak and Kim Crist of the Purdue Center for Cancer Research. They helped to collate and sort through hundreds of copies in order to mail them out for our Center Support Grant. I couldn't have done it without them! -- Andrea Gregory-Kreps
