Ag Econ to help sponsor global trade analysis course

The Seventeenth Annual Short Course in Global Trade Analysis will be held Aug. 8-14 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The course is being jointly organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the Center for Global Trade Analysis in the Purdue Department of Agricultural Economics.

The course will:

*Introduce participants to a standardized framework for conducting global trade analysis in an applied general equilibrium setting.

* Provide participants with ample hands-on training with software that has been tailored to global trade analysis.

* Give participants the opportunity to interact with economists working on global trade and resource use issues while becoming integrated in an international network of their peers.
