Purdue Working Parents Club plans Castaway Bay event for Aug. 11

Due to the relocation of the Dog Days of Summer statues, the Purdue Working Parents Club event planned for Aug. 11 has been changed. Instead of meeting for a walking tour of the statues, the Purdue Working Parents Club invites parents to visit Castaway Bay.

Starting at 6 p.m. Aug. 11, parents can bring their children to a play date and stay to meet other Purdue parents.

Castaway Bay is a family-friendly aquatic center located in the northwest corner of Armstrong Park, which is found at Ninth Street and Beck Lane.

Admission to Castaway Bay is $2 per person. Children under the age of 2 are free. Upon arrival at Castaway Bay, look for the Purdue Working Parents Club sign in the far left-hand corner of the pool area. Parents are required to stay with their child.

Information on Purdue Working Parents Club events is now available through Facebook. To join the group, go to www.facebook.com and follow the steps to set up your account. Once you're a registered Facebook user, sign into your account at facebook.com. Search for "Purdue Working Parents Club" (search box in top right corner) and click "Request to Join." Check back for updates on upcoming events.

Those interested in attending should RSVP for the event through the Facebook group. Parents may also RSVP by sending an e-mail to pwpc@purdue.edu with their name and the number of children who will be attending.
