Stop signs, parking changes being added near Elliott

Permanent stop signs and intermediate-term parking changes near Elliott Hall of Music are being introduced due to nearby construction.

The "Y" intersection from Third Street at the southwest end of Elliott is becoming a three-way stop. In addition to general safety concerns, the change addresses the needs of construction traffic leaving the construction area for the Gatewood Wing addition to the Mechanical Engineering Building.

During the Gatewood construction, parking on the inner and outer circle at Elliott will change from perpendicular to parallel parking. Signage will indicate these parking changes.

Incoming Gatewood construction traffic will come from State Street at Marsteller Street north past Stewart Center, through Centennial Mall and past the Bell Tower to the Gatewood Wing staging area before departing via Third Street.
