Men and women ages 35 to 65 needed for exercise research study

Wayne Campbell, professor of foods and nutrition, is conducting a clinical research study examining the body's response to resistance and aerobic exercise with nutritional supplementation in middle-aged adults.

Measurements will include body composition, body weight, food intake, fitness level, metabolism, and blood hormones.

The study includes a nine-month gym membership to a local health club or the Ismail Exercise Center on the Purdue campus, where participants will perform a resistance and aerobic exercise training program.  During these nine months, participants also will be provided with nutritional supplements to consume each day.

Men and women between the ages of 35 and 65, in general good health, non-smoking, exercising less than two hours/week for the past six months, 10-40 pounds overweight, and would be interested in participating in this study should contact the Campbell Lab at akerriga@purdue.edu or 49-47660 for more information.  Please refer to Study "S17."
