Basketball Sweet 16 T-shirts for sale
T-shirts proudly noting that both Purdue basketball teams reached the Sweet 16 regional round in the 2009 NCAA tournaments are now available at many outlets near the West Lafayette campus.
The T-shirts, whose design celebrates the men's and women's teams, are available at the Follett’s Black & Gold Mine, Follett’s Purdue West Bookstore, the Purdue Pride Shop, University Book Store, and University Spirit. The shirts can also be purchased online through the same stores.
The No. 5-seeded Purdue men’s team advanced to the West Regional with victories last week over Northern Iowa and No. 4 seed Washington.
On Thursday, the men saw their season end with a regional semifinal loss to No. 1 seed Connecticut.
The Boilermaker women, playing as a No. 6 seed, recorded early-round wins over Charlotte and No. 3 seed North Carolina (85-70). The women will face No. 7 seed Rutgers at 7:30 p.m. ET Sunday in the Oklahoma City Regional. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
