Noted theorist to give Teaching Academy talk on Thursday

Purdue's Teaching Academy will present Anthony Gregorc, a well-known author and consultant on styles of learning, as a guest speaker March 5.

Gregorc will speak on "Learning Styles: Empowering College Teaching and Learning" during an event from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in Room 206, Stewart Center.

A second session has been added from 2 to 4 p.m. in STEW 218A. In the afternoon session, Gregorc will hold an informal Q & A addressing further issues on Learning Styles. Registration is not required for the afternoon session.

Gregorc is known for his theory of and research on learning styles, including creating a Mind Styles Model and its associated Gregorc Style Delineator.

He has been a teacher of mathematics and biology, an assistant principal, principal of a laboratory school for gifted youth, and assistant superintendent of schools. At the university level, he has been on the faculties of the University of Illinois and University of Connecticut.
He is president of Gregorc Associates Inc.
