Monday, Feb. 23

-- Cancer Research Symposium. Two lectures sponsored by Purdue Cancer Center with West Lafayette Sagamore Lions Club. Elaine Ostrander, Cancer Genetics Branch, National Institutes of Health. Both lectures in Auditorium (Room 241), Pfendler Hall. 1) Scientific lecture: "Mapping Genes for Complex Traits in the Domestic Dog." 3 p.m. 2) Public lecture: "Man's Best Friend and his Genome." 6 p.m. At each event, Deborah Knapp, veterinary medicine and Comparative Oncology Program, will give an update on canine cancer research at Purdue.

-- Purdue University Galleries. "Shrouds, Masks, and the Floating World: Selections from the Permanent Collection." For varsity athletics tickets, call the Athletic Ticket Office, (765) 494-3194 or (800) 49-SPORT [497-7678]; or visit the office in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility. The office is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and before ticketed events at IAF, Mackey Arena and Ross-Ade Stadium.
