Purdue elevator pitch competition open to entrepreneurs

Registration is now open for the Purdue's Elevator Pitch Competition, planned for 2-5 p.m. March 27 at the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship in Discovery Park.

The competition, which carries the theme "Stand Up, Stand Out, Go Up," will be held in Room 121 and is open to all Purdue students and faculty as well as entrepreneurs from Purdue Research Park.

The contest, organized by Purdue's Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program in Discovery Park, gives each participant two minutes to describe an entrepreneurial business venture to a panel of judges. Three minutes are allotted for follow-up questions about the pitchers' product or service.

There are two divisions: one for certificate program undergraduate students, and one for faculty entrepreneurs, graduate students or representatives from Purdue Research Park companies.

Winners in each category receive prizes of $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third. Sponsors are Otis Elevator Co. and the law firm Bose McKinney & Evans.
