Staff members receive scholarships

Three staff members have received the Faculty Scholarship for Staff for this spring semester. The recipients are Maria Campos, secretary in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management; Kathy Smith, operations assistant for needs analysis in the Division of Financial Aid; and Lou Underwood, weekend degree programs coordinator in Krannert School of Management.

The Faculty Scholarship for Staff was established by the University Senate in June 2002. The scholarship's purpose is to assist staff in taking classes to upgrade their job skills and move into more secure positions at the University.  Scholarship funds come from donations made by Purdue faculty, and donations were sufficient to fund the scholarships at the level of $300 to $600.

The three recipients, selected from among eight applicants, were announced by the Division of Financial Aid.

 An announcement of the next application period will be made when that time comes.
