January 20, 2009 Participants with mobility and visual disabilities sought for studyBrad Duerstock, assistant research professor at the Center for Paralysis Research in the School of Veterinary Medicine, is conducting a research study to develop an accessible light microscope for users with mobility or visual disabilities.Men and women of all ages with partial or complete deficits in either hand or arm function or strength are sought, as well as, those with low vision but not totally blind. Participants will test and respond to survey questions regarding the design and usability of an accessible microscope workstation. Participants do not need to have microscope experience or a science background. Participants will receive $25 compensation per testing session for up to three sessions, each lasting 60 minutes.
