The Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering will award $240,000 for funding up to six research projects at Purdue's West Lafayette and regional campuses.
The deadline for a letter of intent from researchers is Jan. 21. Letters must be submitted via e-mail to rche@purdue.edu, outlining the principal investigator and additional faculty involved in the project as well as the project title, key words and potential health care industry partners.
The full proposal must consist of 8-10 pages using the format provided at http://www.purdue.edu/dp/rche/research/templates/proposal_template.doc. Submissions are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 4. The maximum award is $40,000 for a seed project lasting no more than 12 months. Awards are scheduled to be announced via e-mail in mid-March.
Research areas of particular interest are in primary care access, acute care efficiency, chronic care management, population health, patient safety, and information technology adoption. Projects also can include the support and active engagement of health care delivery organizations.
To be eligible, project principal investigators must be Purdue faculty from any of the University's West Lafayette or regional campuses. Preference will be given to projects that involve more than one academic discipline.
