January 14, 2009 AAO workshops to cover new ADA Amendments ActThe Affirmative Action Office at Purdue will offer a workshop on the newly enacted ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA). This law, signed by President George W. Bush, became effective on Jan. 1.The ADAAA makes major changes to the definition of the term "disability," dramatically expands coverage of the law, and changes an employer's "reasonable accommodation" obligations. In this workshop, learn about the changes the ADAAA makes to the Americans with Disability Act and how it will affect employment, particularly the supervisor’s interactions with employees.
