International Friendship Program seeking volunteers

A Purdue program that connects area residents socially with international students is sponsoring an orientation hour for new participants.

The International Friendship Program, part of the Office of International Students and Scholars, will conduct the orientation at 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 8) in the Elm Room of the West Lafayette Public Library, 208 W. Columbia St.  The orientation is required.

The program's objectives are about cultural understanding. Participation carries no legal, financial or housing responsibilities. Meeting about once a month is recommended.

A PowerPoint presentation from ISS is posted at http://news.uns.purdue.edu/insidepurdue/2009/0901IntlFriend.ppt.
