Wellness screenings available by appointment

Wellness screenings are available on the West Lafayette campus.

Screenings are scheduled for the following days and locations:

-- Dec. 3, 5: 10:30-11:30 a.m., 1:30-3:30 p.m., Room B-5, Johnson Hall of Nursing.

-- Dec. 8, 9: 8:30-11:30 a.m., 1:30-3:10 p.m., Rooms 2-1 and 2-2, Freehafer Hall.

As part of their Purdue benefits, benefit-eligible faculty and staff and their spouses/same-sex domestic partners may receive one free wellness screening per calendar year. Graduate staff screenings are free; graduate staff spouses/same-sex domestic partners pay $20.

Screenings are provided by the School of Nursing and include blood pressure, height, weight, and the finger stick procedure for total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol (good), and glucose (blood sugar). Fasting is not required but is preferred.

These tests and procedures are recommended for most adults. If an individual has an existing medical condition, or is already on medication for any medical condition including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or others, it would be more appropriate to see a primary care physician for a screening.

Participants must bring their PUID at the time of the screening. Spouses/same-sex domestic partners will need the employee/retiree/graduate staff PUID.

Register online at www.purdue.edu/worklife for a screening appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Those without Internet access may call 49-45461 to register.
