Police 'town hall' to address cultural diversity

The Purdue Police Department's Diversity Team will host a "Town Hall Forum on Cultural Diversity" at 7 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 3) for any in the Purdue community to attend.

The forum, to take place at the Black Cultural Center, is for any concerns but also has the specific goal of strengthening relations between the police, the community and student organizations representing minority groups.

According to police, the format will allow the Diversity Team to address the following issues: 1) assessment and evaluation of PUPD’s emphasis on cultural diversity in accordance with the University’s strategic plans; 2) discussion on "Challenges in Law Enforcement in a Multicultural Environment"; 3) suggestions and feedback to better serve the community and members of various minority groups.

An informal reception will follow the forum in the BCC atrium. For any question,  call Susan Nelson at the Police Department at 49-49927.
