Here is a list of events happening Nov. 24-30 at the West Lafayette campus.

Listings for exhibitions and other ongoing or weeklong events are at the bottom. Also there is information about ticket procedures for most ticketed events.


Monday, Nov. 24

-- Sigma Xi lecture in series on climate change and global sustainability. Daniel Pauly, Univ. of British Columbia and the Sea Around Us project. Topic: major trends in marine ecosystems. 7 p.m. Deans of Agriculture Auditorium, Pfendler Hall.

-- Television note: A forensic technology development from Purdue chemistry researchers will be featured in the episode of "CSI: Miami" airing at 10 p.m. on CBS. More at http://news.uns.purdue.edu/x/2008b/081111T-CooksCSI.html. ----- NOTE: The College of Science is having an open-invitation viewing party of this program in Union Commons on the ground floor of PMU, in the area near Starbucks. The creator of the featured technology, Professor R. Graham Cooks, will attend.

-- Parking Services Office closed. This is for software installation and staff training. The office is in the Visitor Information Center adjacent to the Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage. ----- To make a payment this week, use campus mail (Parking Services, VIC), U.S. mail (504 Northwestern Ave., WL 47906) or the drop box in the VIC lobby. ----- Campus visitors may park in A and B lots this week. ----- Parking questions during closure: Purdue police at 49-48221.

-- Purdue University Galleries and Latino Cultural Center. "Humanigration: The Cárdenas Latino Collection." Artworks related to theme of immigration, and thus LCC's ongoing Humanigration project, from collection of Gilberto Cárdenas, Univ. of Notre Dame. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, plus Thursday until 8 p.m.; 1-5 p.m. Sunday. TICKETS

Events are free unless noted (except that conference registrations may be omitted here). Ticket prices are for single events, not any series or discount offers. An exception to the following will be noted in the listing.

For varsity athletics tickets, call the Athletic Ticket Office, (765) 494-3194 or (800) 49-SPORT [497-7678]; or visit the office in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility. The office is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and before ticketed events at IAF, Mackey Arena and Ross-Ade Stadium. For ticketed sports events at other Purdue venues, tickets will be on sale before the event at the venue.

For Purdue Convocations and Purdue Theatre events and some others, go to ticket offices in Elliott Hall (lower level, northeast end by Hovde Hall) or Stewart Center (west lobby), or call (765) 494-3933 or (800) 914-SHOW [914-7469]. The Elliott Hall box office is open 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and before ticketed events there. The Stewart Center box office is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and before ticketed events there.

Purdue Theatre tickets are sold also at the Pao Hall box office. It is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and before Purdue Theatre performances there.
