Penny Wars raises more than $4,000 for United Way

Roger Blalock (center), Purdue United Way Campaign chair, receives a check from Kenneth Wilson, president of the Residence Hall Association, and Julie Talz, director of residence life.
The Residence Hall Association, the student governing body of University Residences, has helped the Purdue United Way Campaign come closer to its goal.

The RHA raised more than $4,000 for the campaign through its annual Penny Wars competition in late October.

This donation, and others made from pledge cards, will help Purdue reach its target of $725,000. All faculty, staff and retirees are encouraged to return their pledge card by Wednesday (Nov. 12).

Pledge cards can be returned to Purdue's United Way team captains or sent via campus mail to Purdue United Way Gift Processing at Dauch Alumni Center (DAUC). Anyone who has misplaced or did not receive a pledge card can download a copy at http://www.purdue.edu/ unitedway/documents/1upPledge_w_payrolli2008.pdf.

Information and updates on the campaign can be found at www.purdue.edu/UnitedWay.
